"Historic Opening Today: Kazakhstan Hosts Deaf Futsal World Championship"

The 2nd U21 World Deaf Futsal Championship will be held in Kazakhstan (Astana) from 1th to 10th of June 2024.

Today is an exciting moment for everyone, as from June 1st, the world will be following the spectacular performance of 10 teams from all over the world, as they compete in the Deaf Futsal World Championship.

The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by Adam Kosa President of the ICSD, the President of the Deaf Sports Federation Saule Shauokova, and the president of DIFA Yakov Frenkel, Meirambek Makhanbetov, Adilet Barmenkulov, who are wished good luck to all the participants. Also, Imashev Azamat Bolatovich, the Deputy Chairman of the Sports and Physical Culture Committee at the Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan addressed the audience during the event.

«Today, we are proud to host the World Championship in deaf futsal for the first time. Last year, in 2022, it was held in Malaysia and our national team brought home a silver medal, which has allowed us the privilege of hosting this event today in Kazakhstan» he says.

The first match started with a victory for Kazakh athletes, with the score of 36-1

The match between the two teams from group «А» was exciting. From the outset of the first half, Kazakhstan quickly gained a remarkable advantage, demonstrating their dominance on the parquet. With months of hard training behind them, the players have showed their mastery of the tactics and unwavering determination to succeed. They showed good preparation and scored more than 21 goals in the first half. The game ended with a score of 36-1, in favor of the hosts – Kazakhstan national team.

Brazil won the match against Azerbaijan, with the score of 8-1

The match between the two teams in group «В» was equally impressive.

The Brazilian team scored the opening goal, illustrating their desire to maintain their lead. However, the Azerbaijani team showed resilience and determination in their efforts to level the score. Despite all the efforts, unfortunately, the team was only able to achieve one goal against the Brazil. The match ended with a final score of 1-8 in favor of Brazil.

The showdown between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine concluded with a score of 4-2

The match between the two teams started with Ukraine taking the lead 0-2. It is remained until the second half of the game, when the Saudi Arabian players started to gain momentum. The match concluded in an unexpected manner, with the outcome swinging from one team to another at any given moment.

Iran achieved a decisive victory Thailand in the match, scoring 6-1

Today’s competition concluded with a match between teams from Iran and Thailand. Despite Thailand’s initial lead, the opposing team was able to equalize the score and ultimately win the match.

Consequently, the referee’s whistle signaled the end of the match and we will meet again for the next game, which will take place tomorrow. The match between Brazil and Iran is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM local time in Astana.
